Jeppesen chart special discount

Postby David Viewing » Wed Feb 16, 2011 12:26 pm

I tried claiming my special discount on Jeppesen charts by phoning the number specified here.

The person at Jeppesen had never heard of this arrangement, or AOPA, and told me the price was 12 Euro for a VFR chart which is no discount at all really. (£11.99 at AFE).

He offered to email me back 'within the hour' with a quote for the charts that I need which he hasn't (so far). Apparently they charge postage on top. A pity since I buy quite a number of Jeppesen charts.

Hi David

Disappointing when a supplier fails to deliver on his promises. I've asked the office to investigate with Jeppesen and will post the result up here when I have it. Martin is tied up today in meetings so if it requires his input we might not get an answer until tomorrow.

I gather that purely by chance a representative from Jeppesen was in the office when I e-mailed them. Still waiting for their response.

Mike
did you ever hear back from Jeppesen?
I need to update my chart set so a discount would be most timely :)
cheers

Try them now.

I phoned them a few days ago and they are fully aware of this discount.

The other way to save some money is to buy a multi-user charting option.

Would bring the cost of for instance JeppView down from 1500k per person to about 3-400.

What is the discount? Is it worth the bother?

You get a multiuser licence with the paper work for each multi-user and a code which can be used to download the JeppPlates into each puter.

When I enquired 18 months or so ago it was something like 1.5k for 5 users.

If folks are interested happy to make a fresh enquiry. It was via one of our Forumites' companies so all totally legit.
