AOPA Member's Working Group Sat 28/05

Postby Chris Royle » Sat May 21, 2011 8:34 pm

The next AOPA Member's Working Group meeting will be held at Airbase, Coventry Airport on Saturday 28th May.
Members in the vicinity are very welcome to come and meet us and have a chat, and maybe stay to watch proceedings and /or contribute to the topics being debated, amongst which will be;
Website update and database plans / developments.
Aerodrome / regional reps.
Olympic Airspace update
GAR progress
The meeting starts at 1030h and finishes at 1530h. Clive Dickin, AIRBASE Director tells me that If you are driving in, there is an admission charge (small I believe, possibly ca. £4), but for those who are flying in (either for the meeting or any event), if they visit AIRBASE they do not pay landing fees. They must pre-book with AIRBASE for the day they wish to arrive by simply contacting Debi Unwin on 02476882600 who will take the aircraft registration details and ensure they are not charged.
Would those who intend to come along please let me know?
Many thanks,
Chris Royle
Chairman AOPA Member's Working Group

When we went there for a PPLIR meeting a few weeks ago, car parking was free, you just drove up to the barrier and it opened.

Airbase is the opposite side of the runway to where the PPLIR meeting was held.

If you are going to Airbase don't miss the opportunity to have a drink and some food in the DC6 Diner.

Not very quick but that is only because they do prepare everything fresh; excellent quality and friendly service.
