Can't tell you, but... In my current day job I come across many who are living the dream, "When he hears an aircraft he looks up", "He flys his simulator to NY and back" etc etc. Then I open the mouth, leave a phone number and invite them to join me and say "All you have to do is to call me on a Wed. and I will let you know whether we can fly over the weekend or not".

All single mums think that I am after them and start to worry, merried mums see their kids laying dead in a smoky hole while the fathers nerviously says "what a great idea, I will call you when we are less busy".

Not a phone call yet.

That's sad... and rather surprising. I've offered flights to mates at my local pub and around the local community over the past few years. The take up was quite good, though I must admit significantly higher from the gentlemen than the ladies. Everyone has said they enjoyed their flights, one or two have come back for a second go, none (so far) have shown any inclination to learn to fly. Usually cost is the issue, unsurprisingly.

I also find take-up to be high.

The insurance companies have said that they will not raise premiums.

I find that "ring me when you're ready for a flight" results in no calls.

Ringing them and saying "I'm flying to X on Wednesday, want to come?" gets a very high "yes" rate. It doesn't seem to make any difference whether they are old or young, male or female.
