ATIS - Avgas PricesIs there any point in the Avgas price league table under ATIS since over 50% of the prices quoted are over one month old and there are nineteen changes posted which have not been added to the table?
Re: ATIS - Avgas PricesThe update is only just over a week out of date. Perhaps the VOLUNTEER that maintains it has been busy? I suggest you ask for a refund.
Perhaps the fact that Alastair's airfield is the most expensive GA field on the list has some bearing on his opinion....? The tall guy formerly in a 152
Tall-Guy, The fact that the airfield where I used to be manager is high on the list was not the reason for my comments.Given the never ending changes (mainly increases) in Avgas prices a list where over 50% of the prices quoted are over a month old was the reason for my comments. It's like flying with an out of date chart!
Re: ATIS - Avgas PricesAs the flying season gets under way, the updates should become more regular. Maybe this thread will prompt a few.
I agree that the current fuel price spikes do not help. For the more far-flung destinations without a resident forumite I find even the out of date fuel prices a useful guide to what to expect, although the postion in the table may be misleading. The tall guy formerly in a 152
Re: ATIS - Avgas PricesHappy now?
Re: ATIS - Avgas PricesObtaining a licence must be gettting out of the range of more and more--at £160 an hour plus instructors fee-say £25, plus landing fee/circuits at many fields--though not all--you"re now looking at £200 an hour plus.
Fortunately i usually fly with one or two other group members--even flying the group plane solo is becoming very expensive. Wonder if these fuel prices will ever peak.?
Re: ATIS - Avgas Pricesmy last lesson (6 circuits in a PA-38, at Carlisle) cost £248
What goes up, must come down.
Except the price of flying lessons, avgas & landing fees
