'Submit' logs me out

Postby Talkdownman » Mon Mar 12, 2012 10:41 pm

After an age one-finger-typing something which might possibly be construed as ever-so-slightly constructive and sensible I click 'Submit' only to be logged out and lose my immaculate draft in the process.

Is anybody else having this problem?

Most days. Normally when only with EDGE, or less. With 3G it happens rarely and with WiFi it never happens.

Just highlight and click Copy before Submitting, at least it's saved then.

Have you tried the usual first suggestion of clearing cache and cookies?

Thanks Mike but (as you will recall) I am a Mac disciple and don't have to worry about cash and biscuits. (Truth be told I wouldn't know where to start...maybe Mr Phillips will give me a steer...)
Anyway, my radar avatar is better than yours...

Thanks, been doing that when I don't forget. Of course, it only happens when I forget...

...like now...

TDM - does it happen if you use a different browser on the same machine? Are you able to try posting from a different machine?
(I'm no techie - just trying to narrow down the problem)

I've just looked at the log, and can't see anything in there about your connections that's different from other Forumites.

Since it only does it to you, I'd suspect something in your router (if you have one) or in your browser.

As the Colonel says: does it do it with a different browser? Which one are you using now?

I have exactly the same problem with Safari on both of my Macs. As a result, I use Chrome for the forum, and Safari for everything else, including other forums using the same forum software!

Safari on iPhones/iPads seems fine.

Graham - if that is the case then surely it points to something with Safari on your Macs (settings / cache / cookies / whatever) - there must be dozens of forumites using Safari without any issues :?

I've tried all of those things to no avail. As I said, it only seems to happen with the Flyer forum, and not others.

I am aware that there are also other forumites with the same problem.
