My intial experiences with goboko.com have been positive but the main reason for the post is to record the excellent responsiveness and support by Mike. Much appreciated.

The booking data for 2010 from the Flyer Group Booking System is now loaded into goboko.com. Users of the system can sign into goboko.com using their existing username (the email ID they registered at Flyer) and a temporary password which is "runway".

Please email us at gobook@goboko.com if any problems or queries.

Regards
Mike

Looks good and although I was originally looking for a system to install on my own webhosting as our current system is run by an ex-member and I don't have full access to it. I will see what my group members think.

Is there any chance of adding in a reminder by email function that would remind you about a booking the day before (or similar)? :)

Thanks Jonathan. We don't run timed jobs if that's what you mean, but the syndicate admin has the option on the Upcoming Bookings page to send email reminders for all, or selected, upcoming bookings

Peter - it now is, largely due to feedback from the Flyer syndicate members who clearly value the ability to book their weekends away! You can now book multiple days with a single click, for instance Friday 3pm until Monday 11am.

We've also added a few other enhancements requested by users who migrated over from the Flyer system.

I don't use a booking system at all, having my own aeroplane, but I'm curious as to why you don't accept donations even when offered? :D

Hi Paul - I think it's because we'd feel obliged to start keeping proper accounts; it's the same with paid advertising. Unless the income generated covers the cost of employing an accountant to do annual returns, it's probably better to keep things simple. On the other hand, if you have a product that you'd like to advertise to pilots (150,000 views a month and growing) and it's worth a couple of hundred pounds a month to you to do that, then let us know!

and much appreciated too. One thing though - unless I am doing something wrong - a recent 30 day booking sent each member 30 separate e-mails when one would have been enough.

Just to let you know that with immediate effect our new booking system for for aircraft/groups/instructors is available. You will need to login and create an account as the administrator of your group and then add all the other pilots and planes and instructors. Its a painless process and it will will send all your pilots an email along the way to tell them they have been activated.

Like many of the people who will use this system I was dissapointed when the booking system we used, GoBoKo announced a charging structure that wasnt cheap so I have invested the first couple of years of what I would have spent to write our own booking system which does all what the previous one did. In addition I am providing the service free of charge to the aviation community so nobody else has to pay. The address of the new system is Aircraft Bookings and you can find out more about the system at Welcome to the Free Aircraft Booking Sytem - FABS

If there are any problem with the system please let me know as it is hot off the press so we may have missed something.

It is pretty self explanatory to use.

1. register the group and main admin pilot

2. Add a plane or planes

3. Add pilots

Thats it. You are ready to go.

You can add bookings by clicking on the start time and then the end time in the calendar or you can also add them by selecting the times under the calender and you can select the end day if it later than the start day of the booking.

You can also book instructors by ticking a box while ticking a plane. We will hopefully add later today so you can book instructors without the need to book a plane for groundschool etc.

We will try to include any suggestions people make although as it is free there is no promises. Just ask nicely and we will see what we can do.

Please give me your feedback. info@freeaircraftbookingsystem.com

Remember the only payment is that you put a link on your website if you have one back to our siste to help it get found by the search engines and so other pilots can track us down. Please link to Welcome to the Free Aircraft Booking Sytem - FABS (the website) not aircraftbookingsystem (the actual booking system)

Thanks

Stuart
