Flyer Group Booking System

Postby mlawton » Thu Jul 15, 2010 10:44 pm

I am very sorry to see the demise of the fantastic Flyer booking system. We have used it for five years without any problems at all. Obviously our group will have to adopt a new system. What do other groups use? Obviously we would prefer a free one! Thanks.

Shared Google calendar seems to do the job for us as a simple booking system.

What's happened to the Flyer system?

Go and have a play with http://www.aircraftbooking.co.uk

At less than £1 per week divided by 6 in our group it's virtually free.

I can manage 17p a week for all the advantages it gives.

Booking System

Postby mlawton » Thu Jul 15, 2010 10:56 pm

I got a mail from Flyer tonight that they are disbanding their system and migrating existing users to Goboko.com

To be honest our system was creaking. Rather than re-invent the wheel we had a look at what was available and we're happy to suggest GOBOKO which is better, more reliable and free.

Goboko is at the moment free, are charges being introduced at a later date when we are all on board?

No, my understanding is that it will remain free.

Mark - as one of the founders of goboko.com, I can assure you that there is no intention at all to introduce charges for the booking functionality.

The system has existed since 2003, there are several thousand users, and we've never charged anyone for anything; we've also declined offers of donations.

goboko does it for us as well. My only criticism is the way it treats multi day bookings - that could be a bit simpler

You're welcome to sign up now and start using goboko.com, as a number of syndicates have done over the last day or two. If you wait, we'll bring across a history of recent bookings, should you want that. If you sign up at goboko.com now and drop a note to the goboko support email address, we should still be able to bring across your recent booking history, if that's needed.

Regards
Mike (goboko.com)
