Jabiru 2200 Engine Failure - Forced Landing on the Beach

Postby duarte07 » Sat Jan 14, 2012 10:40 am

:!: A partial power loss due to a Jabiru 2200 engine failure forced me to land my Alpi Aviation Pioneer 200 (CS-UPK) at low tide on an empty beach in Portugal ...
Wonderful landing, without a scratch ...
No. 3 cylinder exhaust valve adjuster jumped out of its seat during flight ...
More details, pictures, video and portuguese authorities (GPIAA) official report in my blog:

and

PS: Use google-translator bar on the right side of the blog page to access english text version ...

I was lucky, Moli, indeed ... It was by far the smoothest landing in my life ...
Now I dropped the Pioneer with Jabiru and fly a safe PiperSport CS-USE. Very good airplane; Rotax 912 ULS, 7.5 hrs endurance, BRS, variable pitch prop, silent ... Here the link of my first solo flight in it, Monte do Lago airfield, Alentejo, Portugal ...

PiperSport - CS-USE - First Solo Flight

Wish you good flights & landings ...

Hi Duarte,

I didn't get very far with looking at the link you posted as my Anti-Virus (Trend officescan) alerted me to malware package that page downloaded onto my PC. Probably nothing you have done, but I don't think I will go to that site again.

Details of Trojan that gor downloaded here: http://about-threats.trendmicro.com/Arc ... =Mal_Hifrm

Thanks for the advise, Neil. The link leads to my blog of Aerial Photography from Portugal". I didn't know that Trend alerts for a Trojan. It's the first time ... I use updated Trend Antivirus in my office with Firefox and it never made such alerts. Neither does Google Chrome. Which browser do you use ? How could I detect where the Trojan sits and how could I fix this ?

Again, thanks for this message Neil,

Best regards,

Duarte
