Seems like. Then you want an antenna.

The last couple are UK suppliers. Usually the bigger the antenna the better the reception, but for traffic purposes any of these should do for ADS-B as the signals are quite strong. The antennae for ADS-B don't need to be optimised as much as for the P3i.

I bought one of these for the hell of it, back in the ARF days to try, but I've also tried it as an ADS-B antenna screwed on to the DVB-T dongle antenna base. From upstairs in my house in Guildford it brings in airliners as far away as Belgium:

It does put a bit of load on the usb connector and the tiny MCX connector, so is not ideal.
A pigtail to have both antennas at the same end is nicer. I'll have to open up to see if it can be done without effecting the bridge board.

Shame there is not a RTL SDR receiver that uses the stronger SMA connector.

There *is* one which uses a TV socket. Or a few of them. I have a couple of different ones.

No problem Moli, any help, just ask.

Like many, I don't have the ability to feed audio into the intercom or the headset directly and don't wish to take up a pax mic socket - so have just bought one of these (very light) units for £7.99 from Amazon.

In addition to Bluetooth it's fed from a supplied (though very short) 3.5mm-3.5mm plug lead and has a lithium rechargeable on board, fed via a miniUSB socket.

I plan to velcro it close to my left ear in the aircraft. I'll test it with both ANR and non-ANR headsets and will report back.

if you've not got an output to a transponder, there should be a spare USB socket? You could always put a bluetooth dongle in there to save a cable. Shouldn't be hard to setup with the Pi.

It you mean to get bluetooth audio out, Lee would have to program this into his software.

Suggest it under the improvements thread on the PAW forum.

I ordered another one on 3rd June, #452. It hasn't arrived yet and I won't think about it for another week. It is small unit production. The last one (complete unit) showed up in 2 days I think. But if I hassle them it will only slow them down. If you get desperate, come to Blackbushe you can borrow mine, or I can bring it over
