I'd thought about it before but had not done anything about it. But having been prompted by one of the FASVIG Champions, I have now setup an @FASVIG account on Twitter.

I don't think we'll get into the David Beckham league but let's see how many followers we get. https://twitter.com/FASVIG

I am regarding it as a bit of an experiment as I don't know whether the average GA pilot uses Twitter much if at all. Maybe it will help us reach a different audience.

I spent most of yesterday going through all the Champion's registration info to allocate to the first cut draft Project Teams.

My general approach broadcasting small news snippets will be to create posts or webpages on http://www.fasvig.org then post links to them here and on twitter.

Have already got 5 twitter followers in the first 30 minutes, none of whom have connected with FASVIG before.

22 followers already, which is not at all bad and what's more I'd estimate that 75+% are new names to me that have not engaged with FASVIG before.

Have also added some Twitter features to http://www.fasvig.org to make it easier for Tweeters to tweet links to FASVIG info.

Have just passed the 100 mark, in fact 101, for the number of Twitter followers for @FASVIG.

And it still appears to be true that it is mostly a different audience to that here on the Flyer Forum
