Morning all,
Just wanted to give you a quick heads up on prospects for Monday night/Tuesday.
Ex-Hurricane Gonzalo will be making its presence felt late on Monday evening and through most of Tuesday. The headlines form this are that there could be winds in excess of 70kts over many areas. This one, based on current forecast output, looks like a nasty little so-n-so.
The storm hit bermuda last night and is now drifting north, soon to be picked up by the jet stream before being flung eastwards, and then deepening again as it enters the areas south of Greenland (thanks to an injection of cold air).
If you have jobs that need doing before the winds start, do them this weekend and get set for a real hit of autumn.
The forecast gust sequence of charts here http://www.weatherweb.net/wxwebchartsgf ... ndgust.php tells the story very well I think.
At the present time strongest winds looks set to be the early hours of Tuesday morning in the west and south, slowly migrating east, with a concentration of some exceptionally strong winds affecting eastern coasts on Tuesday afternoon and evening.
There's more at www.AWIS.org.uk where you can view the latest forecasts online.
Phew, it's going to be a busy few days!
Hope that's useful info for you.
Keep the sun shining (yeah, right!),
Simon
