Actually just checked, they don't seem to quote for annual worldwide helicopter flying. Or just checked single strip USA helicopter flying and it didn't quote. Ah well, sorry! Just have to fly planks instead on that one!

Did you have a go at the JS stuff I linked above? Just fill in the details and get a quote. Then click to add additional "sports" or whatever and link in helicopter flying. See what it comes up with for silver cover.

Re: Travel (medical only) insurance for private pilotsSorry to pull this thread back out again, need to sort some insurance for our honeymoon (should have done it before!) in Mauritius and SA. Not planning on any flying or other dangerous activities, but you never know what might crop up.
The JS Platinum Annual option seems to be one of the best for our needs, except for the fact that when I click on the Medical link and get it to generate another quote, it gives me much more expensive policies without even asking anything about the medical conditions! (My fiancée has Asthma which is well managed and a month ago had a tonsillectomy). Anyone have experience of this? Maybe I'll just go for a bog standard policy and not worry about flying at all. Re: Travel (medical only) insurance for private pilotsAnother vote for Traffords. They will easily tailor it for any "dangerous" things you want to do......including flying, diving, motorcycling. And they are not expensive.
I intend to live forever.... so far, so good.
Re: Travel (medical only) insurance for private pilotsHrmm, quote came back at £190 which seems expensive to me! The JS quote at £135 (or £90 without flying) with much higher levels of cover looks to be the best option (and I checked that the medical bits are fine as long as declared).
Other option is not to bother covering for flying as I currently have no plans to fly abroad anyway (although always nice to have the option to zoom over to France I guess). Jonathan

Re: Travel (medical only) insurance for private pilotsIndeed - I'm surprised Trafford's can't help. I have cover with them, including offshore sailing and aerobatics which is pretty reasonable.
I know it's a silly username. If you've met me, I probably introduced myself as Josh...
Just as an update, I went with the annual Platinum policy with private Flying from JS in the end as they were happy to add my fiancée's medical conditions for no extra. Worked out at £135.94, but as I clicked through from TopCashback, I should get £20.59 back. Result!

I'm about to work in the USA for a fortnight, where I've ever intention of doing some flying. JS just gave me cover for that for £18. G Who is onlineUsers browsing this forum: CaptChaos, Google [Bot] and 6 guests |
