Planning a flight from Perth to Le Touquet (PA28) and I am looking for a half way stop Humberside is prety close but I am looking for something more GA friendly, a quick stop for lunch and fuel. Thanks

Fenland, or Breighton for me. Although both are probably a bit soggy at present Last time I went to Wickenby for a fuel stop I was quite underwhelmed by the runway condition Maybe on a sunny summers day it's a nice place but I wasn't impressed on this particular day, when it was hissing down and I got soaked walking from the pumps to tower to pay the landing fee. Cafe looked ok though.

Sherburn. Tarmac, cheap fuel, food.
All roads roam to Leeds.

Bear in mind if you stop at a non-designated airfield then you will need to comply with the appropriate GAR requirements and notice periods. With that in mind Humberside may be a good choice. Stopped there a few years back when returning from Berlin for precisely that reason. Cant remember the landing fees but dont recall my eyes watering.
Alternatively - not been for a couple of years but Sturgate was very friendly with very reasonably priced fuel.

How long have you had to fill out a GAR form to go outbound to Le Touquet??

Around noon at Sturgate , at weekends , we can supply probably the best fish n chips on Saturday , and a really good Sunday carvery . Oh , and cheap fuel . Weekdays , it will only be the fuel , and probably coffee .

Breighton Has 24 hour use your own credit card self serve fuel which is handy. There is also no landing fee if uplifting fuel or 25 quid pro rata for associate membership which would give you free landings all year. The runway about as water resistant as a grass runway gets - its not been closed a single day even though the clubhouse was under water. http://www.realaero.com/bugle.htm

Wickenby or Breighton. Both very GA welcoming.

Humberside isn't actually a bad choice. It's reasonably GA friendly and landing fees from memory used to be about £20 to £25 for a PA28. Easy for customs formalities etc. Not sure about the price of fuel though so worth phoning to check.
