Breaking with tradition I'd like to head back on topic and say I want a 7" kneeboard Android tablet on which I can depict VFR charts. I've no room for paper charts or a GPS.
Mildly Upset OF Hertfordshire.

As Stevelup mentions, the Nexus 7 should satisfy your needs. Alternatively, there are strong rumours of a Galaxy Note 7 being announced at CES 2013 in a couple of weeks, though I'm unsure if this will be a tablet or a phone/tablet hybrid.

Why not get a dedicated GPS and run Memory Map on it? Something like this:
Probably won't! I have a very similar 7" GPS and there are two problems:
1. Very poor backlighting which is barely usable in a car on a dull, cloudy day.
2. Very short battery life, so an auxiliary supply is essential.
A great shame as the screen size is ideal, but the touch screen layer is quite dark which means much of the backlighting is lost - and a highly reflective outer screen doesn't help either. Try before you buy (in daylight) would be my advice, hopefully they have improved since I bought mine.
What about the 5" one which BEPY pilot recommended? Is it 800xwhatever pixels? I find the lower resolution worse on my 4.3" cheap navigo than on my HP 4700 PDA (VGA screen).
Currently run SD on a cheap ebay sourced 6" chinese GPS........ it does extremely well and I've been happy with performance ........ only gripes are the Windows CE interface and of course the readability in bright sunlight ( although not too bad as I fly in High Wing a/c )
Will be going down the ANP route running on a Nexus 7 ( just as soon as stocks are re-supplied )
