Noting the ALT of 1076, anyone know any other gotchas/info?

As a general rule for France when using small airfields, and applicable to this aerodrome from the chart, make sure you call to ensure someone will be around to sell you AVGAS if you need it. You should be OK for Quiberon & Archachon, but I would check with them too anyway.

French only on the radio. Watch out for gliders, which use the grass runway, as does their tow plane. Watch out for the one-way taxiways - you are expected to vacate the runway using the southerly taxiway, and enter it using the northerly one. Watch out for helicopters, which fly their circuits to the West - aeroplanes and gliders are to the East. The runway slopes slightly - all other things being equal, land to the North, which saves braking hard to top and then back-tracking. If the wind is strong, there will be turbulence on final approach to runway 36 if you get too low.

Enjoy the restaurant, which is very nice. Say hello to Patrick, the airfield manager, who couldn't be more helpful. And enjoy the pleasures of a busy little airfield with flying club, gliding club, helicopter club, microlights, plenty of private aircraft (including mine), pilot-controlled lighting, an instrument approach and - joy of joys - a unicom frequency that makes everything work very smoothly.

Adrian... My belief is that the reason it all works in france is because the Gliding/towing guys do their own thing regardless of everybody else.... Then when others see how they operate, everyone else tries to do the same!!

Hills not a factor. Turn 10 degrees right and you climb out over falling ground towards the Saone valley.

I forgot, One more thing to consider this weekend.

This Saturday is the "Jour plus Long", the day where FFA aeroclubs across France compete to see who can fly the most hours in their aeroplanes in one day. The good things about this is that most, if not all aerodromes will probably have someone around if you require fuel, and many (like ours) will have some sort of BBQ or dinner arranged at lunchtime. The negative side (if you can call it that) is that they will most likely be alot busier with GA than usual.
