Primarily for general aviation discussion, but other aviation topics are also welcome.

Although I've not yet been through the experience, I've heard some light aircraft are meant to be turned upside down and firmly tied to the ground when strong winds are forecast.

I am devastated by this news. There may still be a few Chippy's around but it was in WP808 that I had my first air experience flight with the Air Cadets in the 1970's and the start of a lifelong love of aviation. I had only recently been speaking to the previous owner (before it moved to Prestwick) about this aircraft and after tracing it, I was looking forward to a reunion in the near future with another flight. WP808 will always be more than an aircraft to me. My thoughts are with those flew in this wonderful aircraft over the years and who (like me) feel its loss.
